Zumba® is known all over the world today, as being one of the most popular fitness workouts, attracting all kinds of people to these classes. It all started in Columbia by the founder, Alberto “Beto” Perez, during the 1990´s. In the end of 1999, Beto took the success to the United States, were it grow to a bigger success. This was the beginning of the brand and concept of Zumba® Fitness.
Vinni started her dancing career at the age of 4 years old, at the Danish studio “Lorenzens Dans”. Her dancing partner was a girl called Susanne, and the pair won several medals together. As the years went by, the dancing expand from being standard dances, such as Cha Cha Cha, quickstep and Lambada, to the solo dancing categories of Jazz Ballet and Disco.
Unfortunately, Vinni put the dancing on hold in early 2000, because of the lack of motivation. This happened to be an advantage for her, when she accidentally bought the Zumba® Fitness package from the television.
In 2009, short after learning the steps from the DVD´s, and listening to the great latin
music, Vinni contacted the company of Zumba® in Miami, applying for an instructor job. The well-known Tanya Beardsley, one of the official three Zumba® instructors, ask her to be an ZES instructor in Denmark (educating other Zumba® instructors), but she turned the offer down, because of her education and internship. In 2010, Vinni became a certified Zumba® instructor, just before leaving for Club La Santa, where she started her career as a well-successes Zumba® instructor.
“It was one of the best times in my life, being at Club La Santa. I´ve got to know so many great people, who enjoyed participating not only in my Zumba® classes, but also joined me outside the classes. It was really great, but it also occurred that I had to get help from some of my colleagues, escorting me to and from the disco. I felt like a movie star sometime”, Vinni commented.
After returning to Denmark in 2011, the popular Zumba® girl was soon to be hired by two fitness centre, were she currently works as a Zumba® instructor. Besides her jobs, she have also been working as an freelance Zumba® entertainer for both sports centre and private parties.
Vinni is know for being the Cumbia Queen, and she is teaching in the following certified programs: ZumbaToning and Zumbabasic.
