Everybody has a dream of being good at something, and to get the acknowledgment of being in the spotlight. A writer wants to publish his book, and hopefully it will get good reviews, and increase sales. Athlete’s wants to win different races, maybe to get the money prices, or even get a sponsor. A little boys dream could be to go on vacation, and
meet his big idol of a rider, who participates in Tour De France. Dreams have no boundaries, and if you believe it strong enough – it will happen.
In her early years, Vinni was funded by writing small stories, which she keeps in small binders. After a few years, she had 4 binders full of small stories she had worked on holding characters from vampires to special unite action agents. But it was at an exam in college, her creative writing was put on the table. She used one of her stories in her exam, and it turned out to be grated highly. This lead her back to the binders, and she wrote 6 short films, whereas 2 of them are in working process for being filmed within the fall of 2011.
Early opportunity:
As many other children, Vinni participated in the local school play which was in 6th grade. Many of her classmates was thrilled to get big roles, but the tall shy girl was held in the background, just wanted to get a fun role she could attach to personally.
“I talked with my sister, when I came home that day, and she told me to go for the leading role. It was a man’s role, but she told me jokes of how it could be fun to play this character, and make it my own as well. Talked me into applying for the role, resulted in her promising me, that she would help me with the lines if I got the part”, Vinni commented.
Back in school, Vinni unexpectedly got the leading role. It was decided that the role was
too big for one person, so they had to find one more to help her out. One of her classmates, a girl, was one of the applicants for the role, and after a singing test with the music teacher, the role fall upon the two classmates. Vinni got the first part of the role, as she sang the high notes, and her sister started to help her in trainer for this role.
But the play did not capture Vinni´s attention towards her future career as an actress. The next play she attended was on the sports school on Fyhn. Here Vinni played a sporty girl, a role based on herself, as the play was about teenager life on that school. The play was held on the school in front of almost 300 people of parents, friends and families.
“It has never been a problem for me to go on stage, and do my job. I don´t think I have ever been stage frighten, or had that black out on stage were you can´t remember your line. I felt it was a part of my “real life”, and it was then much easier to play the role as well”, Vinni commented.
Film acting:
But Vinni was not satisfied with the theatre acting, so she turned towards the films. The childhood dream of becoming an film instructor, was right in front of her, but she felt insecure of choosing the film instructor school, so she chose to go to business college, work on her and small films.
In 2009, she got in contact with the National Film Actors Academy of Denmark in
Copenhagen. A course called “Going to Hollywood”, captured her attention, and she took the train across the country, to the school for 2 hours talk about a dream of going to Hollywood.
“I remember I told my mum about the meeting, and she was a bit concerned of me, as she did not believe that a meeting about Hollywood would help me closer to my dream as becoming an actress. In Denmark we are a very closed minded, and dreams will always be dreams. But I have proven to myself, that dreams DO come true, and a lot of mine has already been realized. I attended the meeting, and it was really good and inspiring”, Vinni commented.
Motivation:
In summer 2010, Vinni attended private lessons with different actors, were she learned about techniques and got a taste of the world within acting. To find her inner creative site, she bought the book “Creative” by Julia Cameron. It is a book of how to find your inner creative side, working with your personality and mind setting.
Castings are very important, and in the spring of 2010, Vinni was attending a casting in Kolding, after getting invited by the Danish Acting Catalogue (DASK), together with 500 other people from Jutland. The casting was for 250 films, commercials and short films.
“I went to the casting in Kolding, and I remember that few weeks before, I signed up on their web site among hundreds of other people. At the casting we were kept in teams of 8 people, and I think there were about 500 people there that day. When my group came up on stage, the director and caster, Tommy Duus, went to each person and asked a lot of question while filming it. When he came to me, he looked at me, and asked if he had seen me before. He asked if I had been casted for a film or show, and I told him no, and laughed. It was really funny, and he was a really nice guy. So many people, and he recognize me. That was a great feeling and a nice complement”, Vinni commented.
Future:
Vinni are currently working on two small films, which will be put on this website in the fall. Her dream of becoming an actress lays within the nearest future, in the shape of attending an acting school in the USA in 2012. Her website www.vinnihansen.com is used for promoting herself as an upcoming actress, marketing herself as the person she is, and also get close to the fans, she have already obtained through her career up until now, and more to come.
